University of Limerick students have been cautioned that anti‑social behaviour during the Halloween period may constitute a criminal…

A fundraising appeal has been opened for Melinda McMullan, a mother of two from Killybegs, County Donegal, who has been diagnosed with stage‑four ovarian cancer that has spread to her spleen.
Medical professionals have told McMullan that her cancer is incurable and that current treatment is no longer effective, prompting her to explore alternative options. The campaign aims to provide home comforts, medical supplies and a financial safety net for her children, Fionn and Eryka, so McMullan can concentrate on spending time with them.
Organisers Aisling Byrne, Helen Gallagher and Kerry Gallagher describe McMullan as “a force of nature” and a “fiercely devoted mother”. They note that the family’s greatest anxiety is the future of the children and the immediate cost of care, especially as McMullan is unable to work.
To date, more than €7,000 has been raised via a GoFundMe page. The funds will be used to cover essential home comforts, medical equipment and daily necessities for the children, as well as to establish a longer‑term financial safety net.
Donations can be made through the GoFundMe link provided by the organisers, who hope the support will lift the financial burden and allow McMullan to focus on her family during this difficult period.
