Alaska Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy has ordered an investigation into allegations that Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign recruited candidates to siphon votes from the Republican incumbent.

The inquiry will examine whether Peltola’s team engaged in any coordinated efforts to influence the election outcome by encouraging third‑party candidates to split the Republican vote.

The move comes amid heightened political scrutiny following the recent U.S. midterm elections and ongoing debates over election integrity.

Separately, reports indicate that former Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed the Pentagon’s top planner, marking another senior staff change within the U.S. defence establishment.
