Nemo Rangers secured a convincing win over the Barrs in the Cork football final, with centre back Briain Murphy receiving the highest player rating of 8.5.

Murphy was described as “brilliant, from pillar to post and box to box”, stopping numerous Barrs attacks, winning clean kick‑outs and delivering several assists, including a two‑pointer against the wind.

Key performances

Mark Cronin topped the scoring chart with 9 points, adding five of the opening ten points and setting up a late point for Ronan Dalton. Stephen Cronin and Jack Horgan each provided the assist for Nemo’s first scores in both halves.

Midfielders Kevin O’Donovan, Alan O’Donovan and the four‑man midfield unit were praised for their work rate, with Alan O’Donovan scoring two points from left‑foot kicks despite limited senior inter‑county experience.

For the Barrs, Steven Sherlock, a leading marksman and All‑Star nominee, was held scoreless. Defender Conor Dennehy avoided conceding a penalty in the first half, while Ross Corkery’s late tackles helped keep the game competitive.

Overall, the match featured strong defensive displays, effective use of kick‑outs and decisive scoring from Nemo Rangers, sealing their victory.
