President Trump attends Tennessee‑Texas college football game

President Donald Trump attended the college football match between the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas Longhorns at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on Saturday.

Fans arrived early after officials opened the stadium 30 minutes before the usual time, and half‑price concessions were offered to those who came ahead of kickoff. The stands were half full 90 minutes before the noon start and nearly full an hour before.

Trump’s motorcade reached the stadium at 11:59 a.m. ET as the national anthem was sung, and he was shown on the videoboards seated between Tennessee’s U.S. senators, including Marsha Blackburn, who is running for governor.

A low‑altitude flyover by Air Force One was performed while the teams warmed up. Security checks on the perimeter were reported to have proceeded smoothly.

Both schools coordinated with the Secret Service to protect headset communications between coaches and players, with the possibility of an official timeout if a serious disruption occurred. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said teams had to be prepared for a loss of communication whenever the president entered or moved within the stadium.

The No 1 Longhorns faced the No 14 Volunteers in a high‑profile SEC clash, with Texas quarterback Arch Manning playing at the venue where his uncle Peyton Manning became famous.
