Donegal wins three top honours at 2026 Georgina Campbell Food & Hospitality Awards

Three Donegal establishments have secured major awards at this year’s Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards 2026.

Lough Eske Castle was named the Georgina Campbell 5‑Star Hotel of the Year 2026. Set amidst woodland and formal gardens near Lough Eske, the restored Victorian castle blends historic O’Donnell roots with contemporary luxury, offering spacious rooms, a destination spa, indoor pool, and multiple dining venues including Cedars Restaurant and the Father Browne Bar.

Breac.House in Dunfanaghy earned the Hideaway of the Year title in the Small Stay Awards Category. Perched on Horn Head, the modern retreat by MacGabhann Architects provides four guest rooms with private outdoor spaces, a garden room, seaweed bath, wood‑fired sauna and curated local experiences, highlighting Donegal’s landscape and craftsmanship.

The Blue Goat in Ramelton was awarded Atmospheric Destination of the Year, praised for its “magic” ambience.

Established by food and hospitality writer Georgina Campbell, the awards are the longest‑running of their kind in Ireland, with winners selected through independent, anonymous assessments by expert reviewers who book like any other guest.
