Squarespace has announced a further €70 million investment in Ireland as it expands its Dublin base.
The US‑based website developer, which has operated from Le Pole House on Ship Street, Dublin since 2013, said the funding will support its growth as a “strategic location” for the business.
The new capital follows the company’s earlier plan to recruit 120 additional Ireland‑based staff by 2027. Squarespace’s platform provides e‑commerce, website, domain, payment, marketing and appointment‑scheduling services.
Taoiseach Mícháel Martin, TD, welcomed the investment, noting it aligns with the Digital Ireland agenda to strengthen Ireland’s position as a digital leader and hub for applied AI innovation.
Colm MacCarvill, head of Squarespace Ireland, said the country has played a key role in the firm’s growth for more than a decade and highlighted a focus on AI‑powered technology and new commerce capabilities.
Donal Travers, executive director of IDA Ireland, described the €70 million commitment as a strong endorsement of Ireland’s strategic location for high‑value, engineering‑led growth and its technology ecosystem.
Squarespace went private in 2024 after an acquisition by Permira, with founder Anthony Casalena and investors Accel and General Atlantic remaining involved.
