Edel Hickey and Matthew Barber were married on 19 July on a sun‑kissed clifftop at Spanish Point, County Clare.

The bride, a teacher from Tipperary, and the groom, a firefighter from Merseyside, first met six years ago at McGettigan’s in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, and became engaged in Amsterdam in January 2025.

The outdoor ceremony was held at the Armada Hotel and was conducted by celebrant Gráinne McGibney of Atlantic Vows. The couple chose a large, fun‑filled celebration, with award‑winning Limerick singer Claire Heffernan performing as they walked down the aisle.

Edel wore an Enzoani gown sourced from Diamond Bridal in Cork, while Matthew wore a custom‑made suit from Dubai. Floral décor was supplied by Rí Weddings and Sax Appeal provided music for the drinks reception.

Photography was handled by Kaspars Sarovarcenko of Black Diamond Photography and videography by SeaForest Films. After dinner the newlyweds opened the dance floor to “You’re Still The One”, followed by a set from The Bentley Boys.

Following the wedding the couple returned to their home in Dubai after a honeymoon in the Maldives.
