Two men have been charged with possession of cannabis for sale following a seizure worth €500,000 in Togher, Cork.

Detective Garda Darren Twomey and Detective Garda Ruairi McGovern of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit seized up to 25 kg of cannabis on Monday, 5 October, on Togher Road.

The accused are 21‑year‑old Lee Crinnion of Blackwater Grove, Togher, and 25‑year‑old Aaron Austin of Araglen Court, Togher. Both appeared before Cork District Court on Wednesday and did not enter a plea.

Judge David Waters noted the substantial value of the drugs and indicated the case would likely proceed to a higher court. Sergeant David Fleming confirmed that gardaí were not objecting to bail, and the defendants’ solicitors, Joseph Cuddigan and Eddie Burke, accepted the conditions.

Conditions include a curfew from 11 pm to 7 am, signing in three times a week at Togher Garda Station, surrendering passports, providing mobile numbers, and no contact with each other. Both men were remanded on bail and are due to appear again on 3 November for the DPP’s directions.
