Three more people have been arrested in connection with the death of the English family in Waterford City.

Parents Philip and Kim English and their sons Jayden and Callum English died after an arson attack on their Birchwood home, while their two other children remain in critical condition in hospital.

Gardaí detained a man in his 50s and two women in their 30s for questioning, taking them to Garda stations in the east of the country under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

The arrests follow earlier detentions of a man and a woman on Thursday. After further questioning, 21‑year‑old Cian Stacey and 31‑year‑old Jessica Dalton were brought before Clonmel District Court on Saturday evening, charged with assault causing serious harm and remanded in custody.

Gardaí continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact them. The English family were buried on Monday in Waterford, with hundreds attending the funeral.
