Ryder Cup Legacy Fund to support Limerick projects

John Kiely, manager of Limerick’s All‑Ireland Senior Hurling team, has been appointed to a steering committee that will manage the 2027 Ryder Cup Local Impact and Legacy Fund.

The committee, which also includes representatives from the European Tour Group and Limerick City and County Council, will allocate up to €20,000 to projects that benefit the community around the host venue Adare Manor and the wider Limerick area.

Richard Atkinson, Chief Ryder Cup Officer at the European Tour Group, said the fund will enable locally‑rooted organisations and individuals to build on existing work to improve the region.

Limerick TD and Minister for Sport Patrick O’Donovan highlighted that securing a lasting legacy from the event is a Government priority, and welcomed the opportunity for community projects to benefit from Ireland’s hosting of the Ryder Cup.

Mayor John Moran added that the fund will ensure local communities share in the benefits of hosting one of the world’s premier sporting events.

Applications are now open and must be submitted via rydercup.com/content/2027-legacy-fund by the end of January 2027.
