Mushroom and Roses Festival returns to North Clare in October

The second Mushroom and Roses Festival will be held in North Clare from 2 to 4 October.

Organised by llewyn máire of the Burren fermentation company Savage Craic, the event takes place at the Common Knowledge centre outside Lisdoonvarna and will feature leading experts in herbalism and community care from around the world.

The three‑day gathering celebrates emergent traditional healing practices and aims to build resilient lifeways through “queer ecological vitalism”. Speakers include Rupa Marya of Deep Medicine Circle, Jimmy Billings of the Gaelic Re‑Existence, and contributions from Dr Julia Skinner and the Dublin Herb Bike Collective.

Hands‑on sessions will be led by Tara Máirín of Catalyst Community Herbals, Mikael and Eilís Galvez of Gaelic Fungi Farm, the Cork Queer Nature Collective, Dan Connor and Lorna Mauney‑Brodek, with nature walks guided by Ciara Parsons.

A Saturday market will showcase Gaelic Fungi Farm, Banner Books, Queer Herbal Zines, Women of Hebron and the Palestinian Kitchen. All proceeds will support Trans+ herbal care packages and the Black Flag Herbal Clinic, a free anarchist clinic offering herbal support worldwide.
