A 47‑year‑old woman, Ennis Dunne, was sentenced by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to two years and nine months…

Gardaí have appealed for information after a house in the College Court estate, Castletroy, Limerick, was burgled and extensively damaged in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident, described as “burglary and criminal damage at a domestic residence”, involved a group of young people who entered the property shortly before 1 am. Gardaí arrived to find the house empty but with walls, ceilings, fixtures and fittings torn down.
Videos of the disturbance were shared on social media, showing furniture being thrown out of a window, walls being ripped apart and individuals laughing and screaming as the damage continued. The first floor was left littered with insulation, and the kitchen and bathrooms were destroyed.
Investigating officers are seeking witnesses who were in the vicinity of College Court and surrounding streets between midnight and 2 am, and anyone with dash‑cam or other footage is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
The University of Limerick, located nearby, said it is aware of the incident and that an investigation is under way. UL stressed its commitment to responsible behaviour, noting mechanisms in its student code of conduct and a community liaison framework that works with residents, landlords and Gardaí.
