Former Palestine Liberation Organisation official Xavier Abu Eid has said a coalition between Israeli leaders Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot could be formed.

Abu Eid noted that the outcome of Israel’s upcoming election remains uncertain, with opinion polls divided between the two rivals.

Despite their political differences, he suggested the possibility of a national unity government emerging from a partnership between Netanyahu’s Likud party and Eisenkot’s Yesh Atid.

The comment comes as parties in Israel prepare for a potentially fragmented parliament, raising speculation about coalition negotiations.
