Django Sur Lennon Gypsy Jazz Festival returns to Letterkenny RCC

The Django Sur Lennon Gypsy Jazz Festival will be back at Letterkenny’s Regional Cultural Centre (RCC) for two concerts on Friday 2 October and Saturday 3 October.

Friday’s programme features the Giacomo Smith Trio with guest French guitarist Hugo Guezbar. Clarinetist Giacomo Smith, now based in London, is a regular on the international jazz circuit and also performs classical repertoire. He is joined by rhythm guitarist Mathieu Chatelain and bassist William Brunard, with Guezbar added as a rising gypsy‑jazz talent.

Saturday’s line‑up sees French guitarist Rocky Gresset replace Angelo Debarre, who is unable to perform due to illness. Gresset blends Django‑inspired swing with the lyrical styles of Wes Montgomery and George Benson, supported again by Chatelain and Brunard, offering a treat for guitar enthusiasts and jazz fans alike.

All original Saturday tickets remain valid, with refunds available through the original point of purchase. Tickets are €25 or €22 per concert, plus a booking fee, and can be booked via the RCC website or on the night, subject to availability.

The festival’s spiritual home, Blake’s Bar, will host Belfast‑based swing band Belleville for post‑concert entertainment, providing a lively end to the evenings.
