Council finalises assessments for Abbeyfeale Sheehy site rezoning

Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin has been told that the county council is completing a series of assessments concerning the Sheehy site in Abbeyfeale.

Senior Council Planner Maria Woods said the work includes a review of the earlier An Coimisiún Pleanála refusal, an analysis of the relevant retail strategy context and a check against the Department’s Retail Planning Guidelines.

Woods added that if the Sheehy site is to be considered for rezoning, a robust planning argument and justification will be required to support any proposed change.
