Fintech firm Revolut announced that its new Revolut Ventures platform will be available from 2027, allowing eligible retail investors to build positions in private‑company shares alongside existing portfolios.

The service, created in partnership with Carne Group, aims to give “everyday investors” access to high‑growth, non‑listed technology companies that have traditionally been reserved for large institutions and ultra‑wealthy clients.

Rolandas Juteika, head of Revolut wealth and trading for the EEA, said the platform will dismantle the barrier that excludes retail investors from non‑listed companies, offering “institutional‑grade venture capital investment opportunities” through the Revolut app.

Revolut cited PitchBook and US Federal Reserve data showing that private tech firms are taking longer to list – the median age at IPO was 11 years in 2025 – and that the number of listed equity opportunities in the US fell to 3,900 that year.

The venture platform will be integrated with Revolut’s existing investment options and follows the fintech’s broader global expansion, including authorised banking entities in Switzerland, Colombia, the US, France, Peru, the UK, Australia and Mexico. Recent developments include the launch of a euro‑backed stablecoin, EURR, and a data breach affecting 680 account holders, 12 of whom were in Ireland.
