Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has intensified alarmist rhetoric as his far‑right coalition trails narrowly in opinion polls ahead of the Tuesday election.

According to reports, Netanyahu pressured the Israeli Defence Forces to consider action against Iran in the run‑up to the vote.

In a controversial social‑media post, the prime minister shared an AI‑generated image depicting a nuclear mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv, warning voters that a vote for the opposition could lead to nuclear annihilation.

The move comes as the election campaign enters its final days, with the outcome expected to shape Israel’s security policy and its approach to regional threats.
