Gardaí have remanded a 32‑year‑old Cork woman in custody after stopping her on the M8 with a €243,000…

Three additional people have been detained as gardaí continue investigations into the arson attack that killed Philip and Kim English and their sons Callum, 12, and Jayden, 9, in Waterford.
The latest arrests involve a man in his 50s and two women in their 30s, who are being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Garda stations in the east of the country.
Earlier on Tuesday, two other suspects, Cian Stacey, 21, of no fixed abode, and Jessica Dalton, 31, of Waterford, were remanded in custody after being charged with one count of criminal damage and two counts of assault causing serious harm. Both were ordered to remain in custody until 17 November.
Friends of the family said one of the two surviving children, rescued from the Birchwood Estate house, has begun to open their eyes in hospital, while the other child remains in critical condition.
The English family were buried on Monday, and prayers continue for the surviving children. Gardaí have appealed for information about the “murderous arson attack” and can be contacted via the Waterford Garda Station incident room (051 305300) or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
