Gardaí are seeking information after a suspected arson attack damaged a house in the Holycross area of Bruff, County Limerick, on Thursday 1 October.
The fire broke out at approximately 5.25 pm while the homeowner was inside the property. Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran of Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick City, said a man in his 40s was at the rear of the house when a passer‑by warned him of smoke coming from the front.
Gardaí believe the blaze may have been deliberately set and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have appealed specifically to the passer‑by who alerted the homeowner, as well as any motorists who travelled through the Holycross area between about 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm and may have dash‑cam or mobile phone footage.
Anyone with relevant information or video evidence is asked to contact Bruff Gardaí on 061 382 940.
